This effort is led by Chris Impey, University Distinguished Professor and Academic Head of the Department of Astronomy, Richard Poss, Director of the Humanities Program and an Associate Professor of Astronomy, and Tim Slater, Associate Professor of Astronomy and Director of the Science and Mathematics Education Center. We have formed a steering committee that draws on the diverse talents of scholars at the University of Arizona. This interdisciplinary committee draws from physical sciences, life sciences, social sciences, the Humanities and the Arts. This group is meeting monthly to plan the activities that will surround the Templeton Lecture Series. It will also act as an editorial board for the publications in each year of the grant.
